Raiders of the Lost Ark – The Ford Fiesta

One of the reasons The Ford Fiesta is happening is because there are Harrison Ford movies we’ve never seen. The other is to see CLASSICS, and Raiders of the Lost Ark is that, considered by Paul & Adam to be one of the greatest films ever made, so…prepare for them to GO ON. Film critic Dan Murrell joins the conversation after the usual nonsense – Harrison Ford News, This Date in Ford History and more!

  1. Another “at long last!” moment listening to this: you recognised just HOW important to Spielberg this production genuinely was because of “1941” … If “RAIDERS” had not been as successful as it was, along with the critical acclaim, one can only wonder how far Wasserman would have continued to have supported him.

Sorry, Ford and Melissa Mathison were not married in 1980 …

  2. Hi Wendy!

Thanks for continuing to tune into our nonsense! You’re catching up to our output, but we’ve got Season 3 in post now to roll out soon, starting with TEMPLE OF DOOM and going through CRUSADE and beyond! One of the best things I got out of all the research was learning about the FIGHT Coppola, Lucas, and Spielberg had to engage in to become geniuses. Like, literally no one wanted them to be legends. So fun to read about their punk rock moves.

Oops on the Ford/Mathison fact. Yeah, they were married in 1983. Probably not the first or last error, but I’ll take it. Just means we’re shooting high on content QUANTITY in these shows, so something will slip through now and then. Don’t hesitate to keep on keepin’ us honest!

Jealous that you went to that ESB screening where Ford spoke. My favorite in-person Ford experience besides his Walk of Fame star ceremony has to be the one-hour career retrospective at SAG. Just a gift of same-room time with him.

    As ever, he’s the man.
    – Paul
