  1. My thoughts on some highly an-ti-ci-PATED releases and some we wished a studio exec never green lit.

More Franco/Rogen man love adding Kim Jung Un to the mix only ups the laughs. So looking forward to this one.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Marvel looking all the more marvelous. Do I see Star Wars all over again, but better.

The Judge – RDJ and curmudgeon Robert Duval setting him in his place. Could be a slam dunk.

The Zero Theorem – Gilliam coming back with another brilliant Brazil.

Dear White People – Everything wrong with whitey and not afraid to ask. Bold, brazen and looks funnier than any Spike Lee movie.

The Drop – Tom Hardy, (the late) James Gandolfini and Noomi Rapaci simmering in a hard edged crime drama. Looks too cool.

Fury – much promise from a first rate director with a strong cast, except for Shia LeBouf. He has top billing and that may knock it down a notch.

Birdman – Michael Keaton is back! This has so much promise. Hoping it’s every bit as good as it’s trailer. Speaking of just the opposite…

What is with Joel Edgerton’s look in “Exodus: Gods and Kings”. It’s creepy. Just can’t see him passing for Egyptian. You may walk and try and talk like one, but this may be the worst casting decision since Harvey Keitel as Judas (with the New York accent) in “The Last Temptation of Christ”. The only thing that looks worse are the just released posters that look like they came out of a Abercrombie & Fitch modeling session.

Too much of a semi good thing can easily go stale as it appears with “Horrible Bosses 2” and when stale turns to mold it’s the stupid idea of delivering us to of “Dumb and Dumber” 20 years too late.

Can anything be more boring than the trailer that appears to douse the flame of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1”? Yes, the bland title.

If I didn’t have wonderful nostalgia for the classy TV series “The Equalizer,” I might be a bit more enthusiastic for the Denzel Washington vehicle. My other beef with the trailer is it ends with the insertion of two other movies that have nothing to do with the film (one was I think “Kick Ass,” the other “Man on Fire”).

The other two, Woody (Allen) and Ted (Paddington) both doing their European thing when it would be much funnier if they were doing a Your-a-peein’ thing.

    That’s all folks!
