When Mahty Scorsese gets your back, you know you’ve made it in Hollywood. Well, you’ve made it, Blackie the dog. When the Golden Collar Award nominees came out earlier this month (and we covered the nominees here), Uggie the Dog led the way with two nominations for “The Artist” and “Water for Elephants”. Scorsese thought his dog actor Blackie from “Hugo” deserved a nomination. Well, Mahty’s got pull, ’cause an online petition and write-in nomination will now have Blackie in competition for the coveted first annual Golden Collar award. If raising a stink gets stuff done around here, can we petition the Academy to recognize “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” and “50/50″ please?

One of the stranger videos to come out in the last ten years is that creepy-voiced guy doing a CRAZY-thorough analysis of “Star Wars, Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace”. Right in nearly everything he says, and hilarious nearly every time he tries to be, this is a good series of videos to revisit on the eve of the original prequel’s re-release.
