For thirty-plus years, I’ve loved Roger Ebert. Even when he’s horribly wrong, the man is a first-class critic of film, and now his blog is a GREAT source for criticism and articles about all things pop culture and beyond. He’s written an article blaming the theaters themselves for the decline in movie ticket sales this year. I did pay $18 to see “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” in IMAX, but Paramount’s lucky that I’m an idiot. Upgrades in price for IMAX and 3D or BOTH and other factors have turned people off, and Roger went off about it. Read the recap of his essay at THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, and catch the link to Roger’s blog from there.

When a movie comes out, it usually is followed by a crap-ton of parodies. But in the on-going effort to stay ahead of the curve, now it’s common to parody the trailer. Here’s a damn good mash-up of the trailers of “The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Lion King”:
You may have always known that Darth Vader was played by two actors – voice James Earl Jones and David Prowse in the suit. What you may not have known is that there was a THIRD MAN involved. Sword-fighting legend Bob Anderson played Darth during key lightsaber battles. Anderson died recently at 89 years old. R.I.P. Action Darth.
